Menstrual blood was often seen as taboo (and still in is many cultures) and thought of as a waste product. It was only when Dr. Sara Naseri (our co-founder) was in medical school, did she identify menstrual blood as a simple way to gain health insights non-invasively and regularly. It took time and a lot of convincing to find other doctors and scientists who believed menstrual blood could provide valuable health information, but through that came our first publication showing correlation between menstrual blood and venous blood.
